Son of Rambow
Yesterday morning I had my head drilled by the dentist—not so fun. Yesterday afternoon Miss T and I caught Son of Rambow at the Davis Varsity Theatre—very fun.
The movie reminded me of an ’80s John Hughes film—maybe because it’s set in the ’80s and has an awesome ’80s (albeit short) soundtrack. There’s also a kindheartedness to the story that says, “These filmmakers grew up watching Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, and Uncle Buck.” Miss T disagrees about the John Hughes influence but agrees on the soundtrack.
