90 minutes…

Hamon Tower over entry court

…at the new de Young.

The redesigned de Young Museum opened in October of 2005, but this is the first time Miss T and I have been to it. We met up with our S.F.-via-Seattle friend, Pologirl, and after lunch and a bit of shopping in Hayes Valley, we headed to Golden Gate Park and the museum.

We walked through the entry court into the de Young 90 minutes from closing, which, for me, is possibly the perfect amount of time to spend looking at art. Our hour-and-a-half allowed for a much more relaxed pace than the 15 minutes we spent several weeks ago at the museum at the Legion of Honor, but I think our time was spent very efficiently. Which is what you want when you’re at a museum.

We took a slew of photos while we there. You can view the better ones here: 50 de Young photos.

I someday hope to spend 20 minutes at the Louvre or maybe 18 minutes at MoMA.
