…at the Davis Amtrak station. I spent some time here this morning waiting for the 525—the train called, by my timetable, “The Slacker.” It’s a funky, old station.

…and I’m running late for work. Aside from timing, these two occurrences are unrelated. The above photo is of the Davis Amtrak station (DAV) when it’s cloudy in the morning. I assume it looks this way even when I’m not running late for work.

…through a dirty window on a train going 70 miles-per-hour. I’ve actually seen quite a few beautiful sunrises on my way to work in the morning. Too many, I think.
…more or less. Today it’s overcast and cold. I drank my coffee and wondered if the guy sleeping on the sidewalk across the street knew that it was spring.
…still being demolished. Presumably. This photo is from last Wednesday so there may be nothing left of the building today. The fellow in the high lift on right side of the photo is spraying water onto Warren’s remains to keep the demolition dust from blowing everywhere.

…is where the train terminated this morning. A Union Pacific train derailed between Richmond and Martinez. Consequently, I spent part of my morning commute waiting for a bus to leapfrog the train stoppage between said two stations. Overall, the bus wasn’t too bad, it just added an hour to the trip.
