Café Rouge

Question: How can an eatery that serves hormone-free, organic beef, pork, lamb and poultry be politically incorrect?

Answer: It’s in Berkeley.

In Berkeley, you can find vegetarian selections at just about every restaurant. Conversely, a restaurant that specializes in non-vegetarian fare is almost, well, politically incorrect.

In any case, located in Berkeley’s gentrified 4th Street area is just such a place. Miss T had heard about the restaurant on Check, Please! Bay Area and last Thursday, when traffic headed east on 80 was bumper-to-bumper, we decided to sit it out at Café Rouge.

I won’t go into the details, but we had an excellent time. It’s not cheap but it’s worth it, and I highly recommend it (if you like meat).
